TGI September!

For a farmer, September is the light at the end of the tunnel. Fall is almost upon us, with winter squash appearing on the market tables, but we are still able to enjoy the fruits of summer as well. Temperatures begin to cool, and the sun sets earlier every night. The work load lessens, and we are able to focus more on long term projects.

There is still plenty to do in our gardens! We can plant the final successions of quickly maturing annuals, unless you decide to skip it and take a break! This is also the perfect time to plant perennials. They have time to get established before temperatures drop too low. Get a head start on your Spring garden right now! Be sure to mulch well and prune back any dead growth on plants before they go dormant this winter.
